Today we discuss the importance of knowing who God is in the Creator and creature relationship and distinction. Too often evangelicals are calling for a hyper-relational God who shares in our human experience thereby compromising God’s divinity and transcendence. On the other side, theologians believe the creature will be exalted above our humanity through glorification- both perspectives present their own dangers. Getting the doctrine of God right is essential. John in Revelation reminds us that unless we recognize the proper Creator/creature distinction, we can have no Creator/creature relationship.
