Several articles on the site Jihad Watch have recently surfaced demonstrating the infiltration of Islam on the campus of public schools even as early as middle schools. In one article , students in Tennessee are taught to recite the shahadah (prayer to become a Muslim) and now schools in Georgia are forcing young (7th grade) students to learn the Five Pillars of Islam. The curriculum in Georgia is loaded down with pro-Islamic and anti-Christian lessons that directly violate biblical Trinitarianism and the exclusivity of Jesus’ claims. The shocking reality of this infiltration is that contrary to what many want to think or are even aware of, the ACLJ has pointed out, “Islamic indoctrination in public school is occurring right here in our backyard… Other religions, such as Christianity, are barely covered.”
According to one Islamic scholar, Islamic organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood spend in one day the same amount of money on Western based Dawa that the SBC spends all year on foreign missions! This is simply another example of the great Islamic invasion happening in stealth, quietly, without a single shot fired and with great effectiveness among a progressive, post-modern, post-Christian American culture of insanity. To the progressive who is committed to multi-culturalism, globalism, and liberalism; this invasion is seen as mainly positive. However, as I have often pointed out, not all worldviews are created equal. You can see the radical nature of even the most peaceful of Muslims in the recent tectonic shift of humanity that has begun to migrate from Syria to the EU in Germany’s refugee crisis that has spawned violence in various places and among German citizens, real cultural clashes (not to mention the rise of cultural clashes here at home as well ). Violence is surely to be absent from the curriculum in Georgia but it will be undoubtedly present wherever Islam spreads because, simply put, Islam is violent (see: Surah 8.39; 9.29).
But the infiltration at the middle school level (at least that we know of since other forms of Islamic influence with younger ages have not yet been documented) is not only imparting an Islamic worldview, but it is skewing the facts of other religions as well e.g. Christianity:
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on one local middle school that is taking their curriculum too far. The AJC reports:
“It is important that students understand the differences between each of these religions to help them understand the tensions that exist in the region,” the state standards, known as the Georgia Performance Standards, say.
In Walton County, that manifested itself in a homework assignment one parent found objectionable: “Allah is the [blank] worshiped by Jews & Christians,” the document said. The child filled in the blank with “same God.”
This is the same tactics that average Muslims use on undiscerning people who could not falsify such ridiculous claims to save their lives. Fortunate for us, we have revelation from God to expose the absurdity of the Muslim claim. The God that was revealed from the outset of redemptive history is none other than the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 1.7)- tenets which are all patently rejected by Islam. First of all, according to Islam, God is not a Father, secondly, Jesus is not Lord, and third He is not the Son of the Father. In Islam of course, God has no Son and Jesus is a mere prophet. If things could not get any worse, they do when one considers the ratio of content in the curriculum at such public schools:
Parents are understandably outraged. As one frustrated parent told the local news, “We are seeing one page, five statements of Christian faith and 5 or 10 pages of Islamic faith, so there is no accountability to make sure it is equal.”
What is being taught in public schools in Georgia and Tennessee is not only outrageous on the face of it, it is also blatantly false and driven by liberal indoctrination which seeks not only to historically deconstruct the facts but also to reconstruct a pro-Islamic version of comparative religion which mostly goes unchallenged.
From the perspective of the Christian worldview this raises several important challenges. First, we would do well to see the liberal agenda today for what it is because in fact, it is dangerous. There is now an attempt to completely blur, not only the religious and spiritual lines, but there is, as we can see, a blatant disregard of historical honesty. Second, This means the present age in which we live is nothing like what the spirit of the age would like us to believe; that it is a mostly positive world moving in the right direction with technology and innovation leading the way. Third, and maybe most practically, there is an increasing need to protect our families. If your children are in public schools (knowing in God’s providence this may be necessary for some, and still completely volitional for others), now more than ever you bear the massive responsibility to train them up, not to be Islamic scholars, but to be fortified with truth of Scripture. God’s word is more than sufficient to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4.7). If your children learn to handle of the real thing long enough and often enough, cheap post-modern and liberal knockoffs will be easy for them to spot. Exalt the word of God in your home now more than ever. A comprehensive biblical education is no longer an option for parents because without it, children will not develop a worldview that can stand the test of time.
